The protestant parish church was probably built in the second half of the 13th century. Martin Luther preached here on January 14, 1530.

Since 2013, in addition to other duties, Förderverein Musica Viva e.V. (friends’ association) has taken on the task of establishing a Brandenburg organ museum in the parish church. The exhibition currently has seven organs (five of which are playable) as well as organ parts and information on the history of organ building in the region. Tours and sound tests of the instruments are available on request and subject to registration.

On the first Saturday of the month from April to October, the tower trumpeter can be heard all over the town at 6 p.m.

Reißiger-Haus, the birthplace of Carl Gottlieb Reißiger, who was the court conductor in Dresden, is in the immediate vicinity of the church at Kirchplatz.
