In Seddin, around 800 laying hens are kept in chicken carts and in a yard. There is a lot of emphasis on a rural mix and currently four different breeds of chicken are kept. Thanks to the way they are housed, the animals have a generous amount of space to run around: every day they peck and scratch in the meadow, can take sand baths and thus live out their natural behavior. You will find a variety of sources of food, because grasses, herbs and insects are part of their diet in addition to the grain they feed. Once the meadow has been “grazed”, the mobile takes you to the next meadow! The free-range eggs of the flock of hens are collected by hand every day and offered directly at the farm stall in Seddin and in various regional shops.
