Natural healthy food, in-house recipes, fair trade, regional partners and our good conscience – these are the basic pillars of the bakery with its own café and lunch service. New combinations of ingredients, without the use of ready-mixed ingredients and additives, make the pastries into very special products. The bakery also produces organic specialist products made of ancient grains and well as wheat-free and lactose-free products. The coffee only comes from fair trade partnerships and is also wholly organic.

The FairTrade organisation underpins and finances social and school projects in emerging countries. Flour and ingredients are purchased in the region or in Germany, if possible, to support the local economy with the purchase.

The weekly changing and market-fresh lunch offer is served on Monday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. High-quality oils, good butter and freshly milled pepper is used! Vegetarian and gluten-free dishes are also available. Pre-ordering is requested on +49 3535 2480799. All meals are also available to take away! Potatoes, beetroot, onions and carrots are sourced from regional organic farming.

This philosophy gives the “Plätzchen” its good conscience. A passage leads from the bakery through to the book chamber encouraging visitors to discover books.
