Wendisch Rietz is the perfect place for water lovers. Swimming, surfing, sailing, boating or canoeing - everything is possible. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can simply take a boat trip across the Scharmützelsee. Hiking, cycling or horse riding can then be enjoyed in the nearby Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park.

Also in the Haus des Gastes, right next door is the ‘Bücher & mehr’: a cosy reading place with a small but fine selection of novels, children's, youth and non-fiction books as well as a children's play corner and a small selection of board games.



A pleasant atmosphere and a cosy seating area invite young and old, tourists and citizens to browse. The offer can be used free of charge. If you wish, you can leave a small donation for new purchases.



Free WLAN is available and you can use the desk in the anteroom of the library if you need to do some business while on holiday or need a bit of peace and quiet to do some housework or similar.
