Strausberg, a town of over 27,000 inhabitants, is situated on the picturesque shores of Lake Straus, surrounded by beautiful forests and lakes, and offers visitors many opportunities for a relaxing holiday. Of particular interest are the natural swimming lakes with rowing and fishing opportunities, numerous marked hiking and cycling trails, the restored old town with its medieval town wall, St Mary's Church with its accessible tower, the town museum and a passenger cable ferry with an electric overhead line that is unique in Europe. For the adventurous, the airfield with its extensive range of sightseeing flights or balloon rides and the climbing forest with mountain world in the Strausberg sports and recreation park are the right places to go.
