The Stadtkirche St. Marien Church, the construction of which began in the 13th century, is the visible landmark of the former Bishop's town of Wittstock and a stop-off on the Bischofstour Cycle Path. From the top of the baroque tower you have a panoramic view over the town and surrounding area. It has a remarkable interior design, including an altar construction consisting of two carved altars, a late-Gothic sacramental shrine, a baroque wooden baptismal font, a Madonna in the aureola, the Lütkemüller organ and the pulpit. The church also houses the permanent exhibition "Church and Power - the Episcopal Period in Wittstock”. The church holds regular concerts in summer. St. Marien Church is the municipality’s summer church, while the Heilig-Geist Kirche Church (near the Gröper Gate) is its winter church. The Heilig-Geist Kirche Church also holds alternating exhibitions.
